Comic Con Scotland 2019 For the Love of Fantasy. New Venue Announced

Comic Con Scotland recently had its first event here in the capital and it was very well organised and received.  It was announced that the show would be back in Edinburgh in 2019 and details have just been released to confirm that this is not only happening but it is also moving to one of the largest venues in Edinburgh!

Dubbed For the Love of Fantasy, the con will move to the Royal Highland Centre and will take place during the busiest time of the year for Edinburgh, a very bold move! The press release is below.

We are delighted to announce that The Royal Highland Centre will be Comic Con Scotland’s new home for the foreseeable future. We would like to thank everybody at The EICC who have been fantastic, and go away with some magical memories of our first event at the centre.

A couple of reasons have made us move location, firstly date availability at the EICC, and secondly to bring our customers what we wanted to deliver we need a lot of space. As a lot of you know prop and set builds are a key feature of Monopoly Events conventions, and we need masses of space to facilitate those. At The Royal Highland Centre we will have more than enough space to expand the event as big as we want to go over the next few years, bringing you the biggest and best convention Scotland has to offer.

On a personal note I have a Halloween event then my big Manchester show and November was not good for me, this year has been a huge strain on my personal life and I am exhausted, a gap between events is perfect and will help me put maximum effort in to make them as good as they can be.

The date change I have discussed with several people and for people out of town it will appeal more as they can make a real holiday of it and come for the week, hotel prices are dearer yes, but as regards attracting the biggest guests on the planet it will be a big pull inviting them to this while Edinburgh Fringe is on as they will want to come to Edinburgh to be part of it. For people in Scotland travel networks are great and we have a huge car park, so big plus there. We aim to make this one of the main attractions of the Fringe on an annual basis.

Some slight price changes this year will be as follows. Last year we did all under 10s free of charge, this year under 5s are free of charge, ages 5-9 are charged at £5.50 plus booking. The rest of the pricing is frozen.
We will add under 5s tickets free of charge on Monday, so anybody buying tickets today do so then on Monday log back on the site and claim the free under 5s tickets you need.

You can order tickets by calling 0344 8000 410 or buying online here:-
