Just a wandering lady traveler and her little blue box! 13th Doctor & TARDIS out now

There was a time that Doctor Who was classed as a bit of a laughing stock, a joke that people used to snigger at behind their hand as it was classed as bad television, something that only geeks and nerds watched!.  That said the show did run from 1963 till the end of the 80s so something must have been right.  Of course since New Who came along things have been slightly different and now it may be difficult to picture a world in which Doctor Who isn’t the cultural phenomena that it currently is!

Doctor Who is about change, either changing peoples lives or literal change from one Doctor to another and as such we now find ourselves coming towards the end of the first season featuring a female Doctor in the titular role!  Jodie Whittaker is the said female Doctor and is doing a great job filling very impressive boots of twelfth Doctor Peter Capaldi.

Of course having a new Doctor means that we need new merchandise too, with many books, toys and dolls all featuring the new likeness of Jodie Whittaker now available (some are amazingly detailed).  Adding to their own Doctor Who miniatures game Doctor Who: Into the Time Vortex, Nottingham based gaming giants Warlord Games have just released lucky number 13 and travelling box!

As you can see from the images, the likeness of Whittaker is fantastic and looks just like the actress and she will fit in perfectly with the other Doctors in the range that have been released to date

The promo video above, perfectly mirrors the very first teaser that the BBC did for the new series and is one of the best piece of promotional videos I have seen for any miniature game, kudos on Warlord for a great piece of art!

The 13th Doctor comes as a single cast white metal miniature and needs no assembly.  The Doctor would not be able to go to far without her trusty spaceship, come time machine, come home; The TARDIS (Time and Relative Dimensions In Space) and this lovely looking model comes complete with her very own police box!

The TARDIS is made from high quality resin, and is a single piece cast so there is no need to assemble the model, just paint away.

Both miniatures are ideal for anyone wishing to expand upon their collection of models for the Doctor Who game from Warlord Games, or for Whovians (Who Fans) who wish to get a really good likeness of the new Doctor.  Expect a full review as soon as I can get hold of a copy and also look out for the 13th Doctors Companions Graham, Yaz and Ryan coming to the game very soon.

As always you can buy this wonderful set directly from Warlord Games at the link below (just click on the image) or from all good games stockists!

So what do you think of this awesome miniature?  Do you plan on getting it or are you Old School Who?  Let us know in the comments below!

  1. The mini looks great and will stand alongside the rest of the range perfectly. Looking forward to the review, and getting my own mini as soon as I can!
