John Carter Updates. (Modiphius Entertainment)

You may have heard of the name John Carter, the movie that almost killed Disney due to its terrible marketing. Well John Carter is a very well written and much loved character from a series of books from the creator of Tarzan, Edgar Rice Burroughs; that was first published over 96 years! Our good friends over at Modiphius Entertainment are bringing the stories set on the red planet to life in both miniature and roleplaying formats, with their successful kickstarter campaign.

Here is the latest update from line developer Sam Webb on the state of the project and much more!

Printing Progress

Our printer is busy at work with the books, narrator’s screen, and slipcases and I’m really excited to share some of those with you! Virginia, our publishing assistant who holds the John Carter of Mars project close to her heart and did such a valiant job of getting the final proofing and corrections done, thoroughly went through the samples. The quality is excellent, and we’re looking forward to having the final books in a couple of weeks’ time!

PDF Delivery

Final PDF delivery is on Monday! We’re just getting the bookmarks, printer friendly versions, and form fillable character sheets finalized, and releasing on Monday means we can sort out any teething problems from Tuesday onward! Early internal previews of the printer friendly version is looking fantastic, I’m really pleased with it and hope you are too.

Supplements Progress
Hi, Virginia here, I’m overseeing the development of the Dotar Sojat, Prince of Helium, and Jeddak of Jeddak supplements and wanted to give you guys an update. Dotar Sojat is going into final drafts, I just have to review a couple of chapters and we’re ready for writers to make revisions. Prince of Helium has most of the first drafts in, so I’m reviewing that at the moment. With Jeddak of Jeddaks I’m waiting on first drafts, and I’ll review them after the Prince of Helium manuscript! We’re on course for a summer 2019 release, with retail to follow on from that!
That’s it from us, we’ll see you Monday for PDF day!
Sam & Virginia,

  1. The John Carter Demos were very popular at Dragonmeet – the GM screen looked awesome and so did the minis! Virginia also did a cracking paint job on the two Cthulhi miniatures used in teh 2d20 Achtung! Cthulhu demos.
