Doctor Who Miniatures Game 2019 preview (Warlord Games)

So there hasn’t been a new release for the excellent Doctor Who Miniatures Game since the 13th Doctor and TARDIS way back in November last year, and while things have been hinted at, it wasn’t until now that we had a good idea what was coming next.

Our good friends over at Warlord Games have recently posted details of the upcoming releases for 2019, a couple of which had already been teased, but all are very much welcomed.

First up we have the Gallifreyan Guards as seen in the Twelfth Doctor episode ‘Hell Bent’, though they have appeared previously these miniatures are from that episode. The Guards are all that stands between Gallifrey and the extermination of her people by the Daleks during the Great Time War and as such are highly trained.  The pack will consist of five miniatures, including a heavy weapon.

Next up is the Second Doctor as portrayed by the late Patrick Troughton, along with his companions Jamie, Zoe, Ben and Polly!  The Doctor is resplendent in his typical outfit, and complete with his note book and recorder tucked into his coverbund and much like some of the previous Doctor models this is cast under license from Gale Force Nine.

Finally we have an all new entry into the game in the form of U.N.I.T (United Nations Intelligence Taskforce) as seen throughout the 1970s and into the early 80’s and led by the awesome Brigadier Alastair Gordon Lethbridge Stewart, one of my favorite ever characters in the shows extremely long history and I really am looking forward to getting my hands on these.  The accronym of U.N.I.T was changed in the reboot of the series to United Intellegence Taskforce, but these models are clearly taken from the 70s!
