All good things come to an end and Star Wars is no exception, and it has long been known that the latest episode in the Star Wars franchise would be the last in the tale of the Skywalker family.
Way back in 1979 George Lucas while promoting The Empire Strikes Back, stated that the Star Wars saga was a trilogy of trilogies and all nine films would tell the saga of Skywalker. Sure this was forty years ago and things change, including Lucas’s vision of how things would play out, but the trailer for this saga ending movie has just landed.
Star Wars Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker will be released in cinemas worldwide in December 2019 and will draw to a close the story that began back in 1977, a tale that tooks to a galaxy far, far, away!
The trailer has a couple of really impactful moments, the most emotional of which is the John Williams score that plays over the start of the movie, and throws back to Episode IV A New Hope and Leia’s Theme. Of course this is the first movie since the sad passing of Carrie Fisher.
I find the trailers pretty bland and run of the mill for the most part, with some great moments, but nothing that really jumps out and makes me gasp like a 13 year old again. Anyway judge for yourself and let me know what you think in the comments.
