He aint heavy! Star Wars Legion. Fantasy Flight Games

Star Wars Legion has been out for a good while now and earlier this year it was announced that Fantasy Flight Games would be releasing a new core version of the game, this time set in the turbulent times of the prequel era, during the Clone Wars.

The new core set is due to be released later this summer, with its first two expansion packs already announced as the Phase One Clone Troopers and B1 Battledroids, that are found in the core box set. Both of these units will be core for the Separatist Alliance and Galactic Republic forces and Fantasy Flight have just announced the release of the first heavy supports for both factions due out around the same time as the new system.

First up is the BARC speeder for the Galactic Republic faction.  This versatile speeder craft is super fast and armed to the teeth, with a variety of options available to allow you to maximise your firepower and use a very fast and maneuverable vehicle to lay down heavy fire on your enemies and be nimble enough to avoid incoming fire.

With a number of modeling options, including adding a side car and rider on either the left or right side of the speeder, this miniature could turn the course of a game.

The Separatist Alliance also get their own heavy unit to counter the BARC Speeder, and the Drodeka is a truly scary unit indeed.

They roll into battle in Wheel mode which let’s them cover ground more quickly, then once in position to attack they unfurl and use their twin mounted blaster to open fire on those unfortunate enough to be in range.  Add to this a very effective shield that will stop incoming ranged attacks and you have a very deadly unit on your hands.

The BARC Speeder and Droideca expansions are now available for pre order now from Fantasy Flight Games.  Gamers Web recommends 6s2hit.com for great value and up to 25% discount on retail prices!
