The Ark Launches

Wednesday night saw the launch of the Ark Games Club, right here in the heart of Midlothian, Edinburgh!

The Ark is held in the newly developed Cornerstone Centre which is in turn part of one of the most historic churches in Scotland St John the Evangelist on Princes Street, which right now is arguably one of the busiest streets in the UK!

With over a dozen full-sized games tables , for games up to 16′ by 4′, ideal for those extra-large games of Apocalypse which was recently released by Games Workshop, and another dozen or so smaller tables which are ideal for board games or roleplaying sessions, the Ark Games Club has a lot to offer and then some!

The Ark Games Club will feature lots of different games to suit everyone, from Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar, to skirmish games such as Warmachine, Warcry and Kill Team and historical games such as Bolt Action and SPQR and many more.  Tonight was a wee taster of Scottish gaming hospitality and at just £2.50 to play it is one of the cheapest clubs in the city.

As well as the tables there are also dozens of tubs of terrain and buildings to use in case you don’t have much of your own or don’t fancy bringing a lot of extra stuff with you, all painted and ready to use in your games!

The Ark Games Club is also a great place to meet like minded folks who have a love and passion for gaming, painting and more.  You can get expert tips on painting miniatures from one of the best painters in the hobby, or even get some insights on games design 101 from some of the games designer members who are part of the club!

The opening night saw a large attendance with games of Warhammer 40,000, Star Wars: X-Wing and Bolt Action taking place, and people getting to know opponents and make new friends in a very warm and welcoming environment that is the Cornerstone Centre.

But its not just about meeting up to game each week, its also about saving money on your hobby and giving you more to spend!  The Ark Games Club offers a yearly membership at just £10.00 per year that will not only knock 50p off your weekly admission fee (saving you £25.00 in a year) but will also give you a discount saving of 25% off retail prices on games and products from some of the largest games companies around such as Games Workshop! And what’s more this great saving is open to anyone who joins, no matter where they live which means you can become a member of Ark Games Club online and you will get your discount even if you live elsewhere!

Gamers Web is proud to be an official sponsor of The Ark Games Club and you will see weekly posts and updates on this exciting new club and its amazing venue setting.

The Ark Games Club meets each Wednesday evening 6pm till late,  everybody is welcome and the club is located at:

The Cornerstone Centre St John’s Church, Princes St, Edinburgh EH2 4BJ
