Star Wars Legion Skirmish. Fantasy Flight Games

Fantasy Flight Games have just published an interview with lead Star Wars Legion designer Alex Davey in which he outlines a whole new direction for gameplay.

Star Wars Legion: Skirmish is a cut down version of the regular game mode of Legion.  It is played on a smaller board measuring just 3′ by 3′ and you are limited to exactly what you can take as the points cost for an average game is just 500!

Sure you can still field that ATST if you really want too, but it is going to really eat into your points and your opponent may opt for more troopers, so that they can seize objectives.

To go with the announcement from Alex Davey, a free guide to skirmish play has been released and is free to download.

I would have liked a skirmish game that would allow you to take multiple characters, rather than troopers so that you could take Han, Luke, Leia and Chewie to the tabletop at the same time against Imperial characters, this would have kept the feel more like Battlefield and could have been a lot of fun.
