After what seems like a decade with no miniatures game capturing the exploits of Mega-City Ones most famous son, Judge Dredd miniatures game is now finally here!
Warlord Games staff on the whole are ladies and gentlemen of a certain age and many of them grew up reading 2000AD and especially Judge Dredd and as such this is something of a passion project.
Following the same format as last years Strontium Dog miniatures game, Judge Dredd will see you playing as a gang trying to carve out a reputation and ear a big score in the Big Meg, while evading the ever present eye of the Justice Department and its hardened police force the Judges. Or take to the streets as a cadre of Judges and bring law to the lawless, the choice is yours!
Written by veteran writers Andy Chambers, Roger Gerrish,
& Gav Thorpe, the game is a lavish book that weighs in at well over a hundred pages and is packed with everything you need to know about the worlds of Judge Dredd, a place where being ugly isn’t just a curse of nature, its a fashion statement; and were a serious crime is reported every single second of every day!
There are lots of cool new miniatures too, from street gangs and punks to take on the judges, to street judges who patrol the streets and even some of the most notorious villians in the comics forty plus year history make an appearance, all beautifully cast in Warlords new wonder resin!
Of course no game with Judge Dredd in the title would be worth its salt if it didn’t feature the main man himself and along side the game, Warlord are releasing what is one of the best versions of Judge Joe Dredd in miniature format to ever grace a games table. The pack will feature both Dredd on foot and his iconic Lawmaster MkIII bike!
There are several options and bundles available for the new game, from the two player starter set which features not only the rules, but also a gang of punks and two judges, as well as the 2000AD dice you will need to play and all the tokens and such for the game! It is reasonably priced and if you are feeling a little more extravagant you can always shell out a few credits more for the deluxe version of the game that is hard bound and looks pretty drokking awesome (“That’s five in the cubes for you creep, illegal vulgarity in a post”: Dredd).
With loads more models and terrain due out and out now the future looks very Dreddful indeed! (“Add five more years creep, bad use of puns”: Dredd).
