The Prophecy of the Wolf preorders live this weekend. Games Workshop

Warhammer 40,000 has been around for quite a long time now and has managed to tell hundreds of stories across books, computer gamers and of course the miniature games themselves.  While most people have their favorite characters in the vast pantheon of heroes and villains in Warhammers grim dark universe, there are a few names that really do stand out!

Commissar Yarrick, Abaddon the Despoiler, Robute Gulliman and dozens more are all fan favourites, but two names really do stand out when mentioned and now they are about to square off against each other once again in an all-new battlebox from Games Workshop.

The Prophecy of the Wolf is a brand new battlebox and will feature the iconic Space Wolf Space Marines, facing off against the green-skinned hordes of the mighty Orks.  The box also features the return of two of Warhammer 40,000 best-loved characters, the Space Wolf Lord, Ragnar Blackmane and the deadliest and mightiest Ork warlord ever to rage across the stars Ghazghkull Thraka!

The battlebox comes with both forces and is an ideal jumping in point for anyone wishing to get into the game or start a new army, and includes all-new plastic sculpts for both marines and orks alike, but it is the character models that most will wish to get their hands on and who can blame them.

Ragnar Blackmane has long been a character in the history of 40K and though there have been versions of him before, this model really is the closest to capturing the pure ferocity of the Wolf Lord.  Poised to strike a killing blow with his legendary weapon Frostfang, this is Ragnar for the first time as a Primaris Space Marine and the model towers above normal marines!

Ghazghkull Thraka is pretty much a force of nature, an unstoppable death machine that acts like a living magnet attracting orks to his banner from across the universe. He has faced and cheated death many, many times, even been decapitated by Ragnar during their last battle, but something as simple as death won’t stop this mighty Ork warlord so easily.

This is one of the best looking and most impressive miniatures to come out of Games Workshop for a long while and can be posed in a variety of ways, with different head options included.  Towering even over the mighty dreadnoughts, this will be an ideal centrepiece to your Ork army.

The box also includes 10 Primaris Space Marines, 7 Orks and 3 Gretchin miniatures, a quick play start booklet and a special scenario and background booklet that lets you recreate some amazing battles between the two forces.
