Get me pictures of…. Crooked Dice Games Design Studio

Hey there True Believers, this weekend saw the tenth birthday of one of the industries best and brightest small companies, Crooked Dice Games Design Studio (just Crooked Dice for short) the creators behind the excellent 7TV and a whole host of amazing miniatures that bring a tear of nostalgia to the eye!

To celebrate its tenth year, Crooked Dice has released a whole bunch of new miniatures and models for its games, and everyone who ordered a new release was given an excellent free model that is ideal if you have a paranormal issue around the house!

I took advantage of the new releases and ordered the Editor in Cheif miniature, which will be ideal for my future games of Marvel Crisis Protocol as it bears a very uncanny likeness to the late and very great Stan Lee.

Editor In Chief

As you can see by the video below (please excuse the grainy quality I am filming from home for the foreseeable future), the miniature is fantastic and really captures the likeness of that certain cameo scene-stealer to a tee!

The sculpt is a single cast in white metal and has very little cleanup and is posed with hand-on hip, clutching a copy of the latest headlines and looks like he is about to issue a dressing down to some poor unfortunate soul.  The facial detail is fantastic and over the entire model, screams paint me!

It is quite refreshing these days to see a miniature that has been sculpted so finely and sticks to the old school ideals of miniature gaming and collecting.

The free miniature is Janey, who is based on Janel the secretary from the cult classic Ghostbusters and she comes complete with her ghost capturing gear (in the form of a Proton Accelerator) and has a ghost trap in hand. Both Janey and the Editor in Cheif miniatures are supplied with the standard 25mm slotta bases that are more or less industry standard these days, I am going texture mine and use some of the scenics from Gamers Grass! Again a superb sculpt and kudos to the guys at Crooked Dice for pulling off so many wonderful miniatures.

I was lucky that I was in the first 20 people to put my order in and was sent the Crooked Dice 10th Anniversary calendar which is now on the wall above my painting station.  You can see in the video that this looks pretty excellent and the miniature photography and painting is easily equal to that of any of the large games companies, again another feather in the cap of Crooked Dice.

You can still get the Editor in Cheif miniature as well as the full range of models from Crooked Dice by clicking on the banner below.  Once again congratulations to Karl and everyone at Crooked Dice for your outstanding high quality miniatures and games!
