Wargames Companies joins the fight against Covid-19. Army Painter

The current global situation is pretty dire to say the lease and while the majority of us are stuck indoors in isolation, a small but extremely valued force of front line workers help to keep the pandemic under control.

From the doctors and nurses, porters, cleaners and orderlies who keep our health servicds running in these difficult times, the police officers who work double shifts to keep us safe and the retail workers who stock shelves so we can eat, we owe a debt of gratitude that is beyond compare.

Now with many sports venues and exhibition centres being quickly turned into makeshift hospitals and other facilities being retrofitted to help in the ongoing fight against the Covid 19 virus around the world. Now news of Army Painter and Pendraken joining in the battle against this invisible foe.

Army Painter

What’s in a bottle? Well, for 13-years we’ve filled these bottles with our high-quality Warpaints and we are privileged to play such an important role in your hobby. For the first time ever, these bottles will be put to use for a different reason. The world has changed a lot in these last few weeks. While the Covid-19 pandemic has required us to rethink the ways we operate, it has also called us to act. Very soon, we will be stripping the lines of our paint production machines in preparation for their next mission. When clean hands can literally save lives, there is an international hand sanitizer shortage.

The Army Painter has secured approval and the materials to begin the production of hand sanitizer. We will begin filling our 18ml and 100ml bottles with sanitizer which meets the World Health Organizations standards to fight and kill 99.9% of harmful germs and bacteria.

Our first order of business is to deliver hand sanitizer, at no cost, to local schools so that when the world returns to its new normal, our children have the rites and access to a clean and healthy learning environment. Our next challenge will be to supply the international distribution chains with these bottles in an affordable, and accessible manner.

This evolving new reality will affect our business greatly however this is not a matter of choice for The Army Painter, our owner Bo, or our team. This is our obligation. We have the means to help – therefore we must.

Stay tuned for more developments. Until then, happy hobbying!

Pendraken Miniatures

We’ve got some good news today! We’ve been looking for ways to help out in the current situation and after a few tests and discussions over the weekend, we are now able to produce PPE/face shields which we will be giving out to local medical facilities.

The first batch have been passed to a local hospice for them to confirm that they’re happy with them and then we’ll have the green light to produce a lot more.

We expect to be able to produce around 200 face shields per day and we’ve got enough material here for 2000 of them. Adele’s mother has worked in the NHS for almost 40 years, so we’re really excited about being able to help her colleagues in the frontline.

Thanks to local company BC-FX for pointing us in the right direction!
