Tabletop Gaming Live Cancelled

Sadly yet another convention falls to Covid-19 as Tabletop Gaming Live has just been cancelled. It is a wise move, but yet another blow to the hobby. #stayinsavelives #stayhomestaysafe

From the Press Release

Tabletop Gaming Live, our annual celebration of gaming at Alexandra Palace, has been cancelled for 2020 due to coronavirus concerns and to protect the health of our visitors.

While we had been very optimistic about whether the show could take place this year, we have come to the conclusion that there is unlikely to be a substantial shift in government advice around the current lockdown, coronavirus safety and mass gatherings. We have, like nearly every other show in the gaming calendar, decided that in the interests of the health and safety of our visitors to cancel the event.

Our main goal at the show is to ensure all exhibitors and visitors have a great time and a really positive experience to take home with them (as well as bags full of goodies) but this year it’s become evident that we aren’t going to be able to deliver what people want; to get up close and personal with their favourite games designers and businesses, play and buy the latest games and accessories and take part in large scale open gaming.

We’re really grateful for your support in these difficult circumstances, and appreciate those of you who had purchased tickets already. We’d love to see you next year, so we’re offering the option to roll your ticket on to next year’s show. If you can’t make it though, you can of course obtain a refund. The Ticket Factory will be in contact with you directly later today.

We have made initial contact with our exhibitors to arrange our next steps.

We are very proud of what we had lined up for the show this year, and hope that we can work on ensuring that Tabletop Gaming Live 2021 will be even bigger. The show has already expanded massively over the last couple of years, and we intend to grow it, and the hobby more generally, for years to come. With that in mind, we would also like to announce the dates of Tabletop Gaming Live 2021.

Tabletop Gaming Live 2021 will be back on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th September 2021. Stay tuned for more details.
