He wss a highly regarded and successful director and brought us such movies as The Lost Boys, Falling Down, and two Batman movies, sadly we learn today that Joel Schumacher has passed away.

Joel Schumacher had a long and illustrious career that spaned five decades and many of the movies he wrote or directed went on to become cult classics, such as The Lost Boys and Falling Down, and of course there was some controversy about his Batman movies, which didn’t have the dark edge of the Tim Burton movies, but had a far more campy slant to them.

A powerhouse within  Hollywood, Joel Schumacher leaves behind a legacy of film and television that is loved around the world. He was 80 years old.
