This is my quick look and review of the Tempelhof Battlefleet set for Dystopian Wars from Warcradle Studios and Wayland Games.
Hot on the heels of the latest edition Dystopian Wars: The Hunt for Prometheus of we get another Battlefleet box, this time for the mighty Imperium faction in the form of the Tempelhof Battlefleet Set. You may have already seen my look at the Borodino Battlefleet Set in an earlier post.
Available now to preorder directly from Warcradle is the Tempelhof Battlefleet Set, for the Imperium faction and contains the following
- 1 x Tempelhof Class Fleet Carrier
- 2 x Volslung Class Cruisers
- 4 x Toten Class Destroyers
- 2 x Special SRS Tokens
- 2 x SRS Tokens
The Battlefleet consists of two identical plastic frames or sprues that contain the main bulk of the fleet, comprisng of all the parts to make the two Volsung (with options to build either as a Konrad or Reiter class) and four Toten (with options to build as Sigimer) class ships, with many options to swap and change out the armoury of each ship with guns and generators, etc and allow you to have the fleet you want to command.
The set also comes with tokens for your SRS and Special SRS actions and bases to mount the wee planes on so that they dont get damaged I guess. These are on the plastic sprues and again feature awesome detail for something so small.
Like the ships from the Borodino Battlefleet Set, all of the plastic ships go together really well and have plenty of options to allow you to field them as needed. Again its recommended that you check out the official website for build instructions, details at the end of this post!
The Fleet Carrier is the huge Tempelhof class and is made from high impact resin and comes in three parts, the main hull and two small components that fit neatly on to the deck of the vessel. The detail here is outstanding with loads of guns nestled neatly away under the carriers main deck, and a really neat Iron Cross on the main deck makes the vessel sing!
The Tempelhof Battlefleet is a fantastic way to get into Dystopian Wars, a highly charged game that puts you in command of a huge floatila of vessels, though you will not find any of the Orbat (Order of Battle) cards in the box. As with a large number of products from Warcradle such as Wild West Exodus, Dystopian Wars is a living game which will constantly be evoloving and as such all the cards and details are now online, including the ORBAT section for each faction which tells you what you can and can’t take into battle.
You can find all the assets and assembly instructions for the Tempelhof Battlefleet Set, as well as ORBAT’s and Unit Cards at the link below
